DON'T SCOLD THE LOVER

Image
Moses heard a shepherd on the road praying: “Lord, where are you? I want to help you, to fix your shoes and comb your hair. I want to wash your clothes and pick the lice off. “I want to bring you milk to kiss your little hands and feet when it’s time for you to go to bed. “I want to sweep your room and keep it neat. God, my sheep and goats are yours. ” “Who are you talking to?” Moses could stand it no longer. “Only something that grows needs milk. Only some one with feet needs shoes. Not G’d!”  The shepherd repented and tore his clothes and sighed and wandered out into the desert. A sudden revelation came then to Moses. “You have separated me from one of my own. “Did you come as a Prophet to unite, or to sever? “I have given each being a separate and unique way of seeing and knowing and saying that knowledge. “What seems wrong to you is right for him. “What is poison to one is honey to someone else. “Purity and impurity, sloth and diligence in worship, these mean no...

You Can’t Unfry An Egg But There Is No Law Against Thinking About It !

If I had my life to live over, I would try to make more mistakes I would relax. I know of very few things that I would take seriously. I would go more places. I would climb more mountains and swim more rivers. I would eat more ice cream and less bran. I would have more actual troubles and fewer imaginary troubles. You see, I have been one of those fellows who live prudently and sanely, hour after hour, day after day. Oh, I have had my moments. But if I had it to do over again, I would have more of them – a lot more. I never go anywhere without a thermometer, a gargle, a raincoat and a parachute. If I had it to do over, I would travel lighter. If I had my life to live over, I would pay less attention to people telling us we must learn Latin or History; otherwise we will be disgraced and ruined and flunked and failed. I would seek out more teachers who inspire relaxation and fun. If I had my life to live over, I would start barefooted a little earlier in the s...

Sarfaroshi ki Tamanna !! – - By Ram Prasad Bismil

रहबर – Guide/  लज्जत – tasteful /  नवर्दी – Battle/   मौकतल – Place Where Executions Take Place, Place of Killing / मिल्लत – Nation, faith

------- Earth Goddesses --------

Isis (Egypt) Not only was she a principal deity in the rites connected with the dead, but she was also a magical healer, and as a mother figure and arbiter of fertility rites, she was a role model for women. Isis was the daughter of the earth god Geb and the sky goddess Nut and was married to Osiris, King of Egypt, whom she restored as a mummy after his brother Seth threw him in the Nile and then chopped him into pieces. Artemis (Greece) Daughter of Zeus and Leto and the twin sister of Apollo, the sun god. Most commonly thought of as the goddess of the hunt, she is often depicted with a quiver full of arrows, and accompanied by a deer or a bear. However, Artemis could also refer to a number of other deities, depending on the time period or the region — and many of them had a more nurturing role. Frigga (Scandinavia) Wife of Odin, associated with the hearth, the mead hall and childbirth. But while that seems a boring portfolio, it’s an important one given the violenc...

ARE WE MASTERS OF OUR OWN FATE ? ---- ( Excerpts From " We , The Nation - THE LOST DECADE " by Nani . A . Palkhiwala

Some of the greatest men have believed that certain events in their lives were preordained and that certain individuals had the rare gift or precognition. An example is that of Dr S Radhakrishnan, a professor of philosophy, who later became President of India. If you read the life of Dr Radhakrishnan by his son Gopal, you will come across the following passage on page 143: 'Sometime during these years when Radhakrishnan was spending the summers in Europe, he met Cheiro, the best-known palmist of his day. Cheiro studied Radhakrishnan's palms and forecast that he would reach the top, be the head of a State, but would before his death, lose his mind. Both these prophecies seemed at the time so wildly off the mark that they became a family joke.' The above passage bears eloquent testimony to two facts -- preordination and the gift of precognition by rare individuals. One of the most famous incidents is that of Winston Churchill who had a lucky escape from a bomb...

" LIFE STORM " --- a question

Are coincidences in our life are a part of our destiny and if everything is written as we say ‘maktub’, then what is the point in following our dreams?     There was an old man who had a dream one night that he would be protected from a ravaging storm that would engulf his whole village. The next day, as expected, a terrible storm came to his region. The first day a neighbor of his offered help for him to flee – help that he denied since he was sure God was going to help him. The second day, when he had to take refuge in the second floor of his house given that the waters had taken over all of the first floor, a rescue team came to his house and offered him to get out of there – help that he again refused given that God had promised him to get out of there. The third day came a helicopter to rescue him but he was adamant that God was going to save him. Not long after he drowned and died. Once in heaven he complained to God: “why didn’t you help me as you promis...

PARENTS AND CHILDREN ----- Khalil Gibran --- Paulo Coelho

Khalil Gibran has an excellent text about parents and children: Your children are not your children. They are the sons and daughters of Life’s longing for itself. They come through you but not from you, And though they are with you yet they belong not to you. You may give them your love but not your thoughts, For they have their own thoughts. You may house their bodies but not their souls, For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow, which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams. You may strive to be like them, but seek not to make them like you. For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday. You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth. The archer sees the mark upon the path of the infinite, and He bends you with His might that His arrows may go swift and far. Let our bending in the archer’s hand be for gladness; For even as He loves the arrow that flies, so He loves also the bow that is stable.

Wisdom ( Paulo Coelho's Blog )

Dictionary: Deep Knowledge of  Things, Natural or Acquired; Erudition; Rectitude According to the New Testament: But it was what the world calls foolish that God chose to put the wise to shame with, and it was what the world calls weak that God chose to shame its strength with (Corinthians 1: 25-27). According to Islam: A wise man became a object of irony for the inhabitants of the city. One day he was walking down the main street with some of his disciples when a group of men and women began to insult him. The wise man went up to them and blessed them. When they left, one of the disciples remarked:

A rose longed for the company of the bees, but none would come to her. Even so, the flower was still capable of dreaming. When she felt all alone, she would imagine a garden filled with bees that came to kiss her. And so she managed to resist until the next day, when she opened her petals again. “Aren’t you tired?” another rose asked her. “No. I have to go on fighting.” “Why?” “Because if I don’t open up, I wither.

Excerpts From 'The Book of Mirdad' By Mikhail Naimy

The Strange Story of a Monastery Which Was Once Called the Ark "Logic is immaturity weaving its nets of gossamer wherewith it aims to catch the behemoth of knowledge. Logic is a crutch for the cripple, but a burden for the swift of foot and a greater burden still for the wise."  Love is the law of God MIRDAD Love is the law of God. You live that you may learn to love. You love that you may learn to live. No other lesson is required of Man. And what os ot to love but for the lover to absorb forever the beloved so that the twain be one? And whom, or what, is one to love? Is one to choose a certain leaf upon the Tree of Life and pour upon it all one`s heart? What of the branch that bears the leaf? What of the stem that holds the branch? What of the bark that shields the stem? What of the roots that feed the bark, the stem, the branches and the leaves? What of the soil embosoming the roots? What of the Sun,and sea, and air that fertilize the soil? If one small...
